So I'm walking to Ala Moana Shopping mall today to meet the girls and make sure that they get to the bus stop on time (and do Franc's shopping) and I saw a few typical "Hawaiian Cars" that I wanted to share.
First of all you have to remember that since there is so much saltly "ocean" air cars rust very easily here. Secondly, auto safety inspections (車検) are not as strict as Japan (cars must only be "structurally" safe - they are more strict about exhaust and pollution than whether or not all of the pieces are attached). So you often see cars that look like this...

And how about this Mazda Miata?
It even had leaves piled up in the back from being parked under a tree...
Well, I guess as long as it gets you where you need to go...
My personal favorite is this one, though.
